Bridge Program

Course Description

This programme of academic excellence is aimed at providing further training and in company learning experience in international law firms. This in-depth course will be held for two weeks and will include both a national and an international mobility stay.

During this mobility stay, you will have the opportunity to gain further insight into the organisational structure and internal operation of firms or institutions through a number of activities including:

  • Attending the tutor’s meetings with clients.
  • Supervised training on a topic of interest: reading law papers, study and analysis of legislation and jurisprudence to draft reports.
  • Studying real cases through the analysis of legal documents.
  • Attending trials, hearings and pretrial hearings.
  • Assisting in tasks carried out at courts, institutions, notary and registry offices.
  • Understanding the internal operation and work organisation at an international organisation or a law firm in Spain or abroad.

Student Profile

This programme is designed for fourth year students on one these degrees:

  • BA in Law
  • BA in Law+ Specialism in Economics or BA in Law+ Specialism in ICT Law.
  • Double Degree in Business Administration + Law, Law + Communication and International Relations + Law.
  • BA in Labour Relations and Double Degree in Law + Labour Relations.

As this course has a limited number of places, the Law Faculty will strictly respect the following criteria:

  • Students with the best academic records (academic excellence).
  • Knowledge of the working language for the mobility week abroad.
  • The successful candidates may choose voluntarily the programme on which to enrol.

Course features

Course duration (it can be pursued in the 2016 2017 academic year)

  • From 20 January to 7 February.
  • From 17 April to 23 April.
  • From 14 June to 16 July.

Mobility periods will depend on the availability of the firms or institutions and students' interests. These weeks can be done on a continuous basis or at different periods.

Academic structure

  • Elective subject on the BA degree (6 ECTS).
  • Lecturer in charge: María Nagore Casas (m.nagore@deusto.es).
  • The programme will be included in students’ official academic record, which will contain additional data and an internship certificate (including venue, location, and number of hours).
